Hi,
I was using a Speedtouch modem to access the internet a few days ago and everything was fine. Then, we wanted to get a home network and have the main PC and a laptop on it. I got a NETGEAR DG834GT (SKY VERSION) off my friend and reflashed it so it had the latest NETGEAR firmware (Version 1.02.14). I set up the router with TalkTalk settings (not sure if the one I'm using are correct) to access the internet through the router and it connected. It then can go for a couple of hours without timing out and then it can time out 3 times in 15 minutes. I tried to fix it but cannot seem to. I tried to go back to the Speedtouch modem to access the connection as I was getting annoyed but, I would connect to the internet but as soon as I'd try and open a browser or Ventrilo the connection would cut out. HELP PLEASE!

I checked my logs and it says: "Wed, 2008-03-05 12:59:14 - LCP down." That's when I time out. Hopefully you can help me? :(

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forums.
I am looking into your connection now but suspect this to be modem/router related.
Ill be back in a couple of minutes.

When it times out the little internet light on the modem goes out too.

Hi Paul
Have just changed you to variable to an interleaved profile give it it a try for me and let me know.

Ok, I'll try and let you know. Thing is, I requested interleaving to be turned off to get better latency in online gaming and everything was fine with the Speedtouch modem. It just started when I changed to the NETGEAR (SKY VERSION) router.

Ok, I'm timing out every couple of minutes now.:( I can't even use the Speedtouch modem in the meantime. It lets me connect but then as soon as I open a browser it cuts out.

Ok, I've managed to get the Speedtouch modem to work and it's letting me on a browser. I'll wait and see if I timeout and then I'll get back to you.

That router isn't wireless though is it? The point of the router was to make it wireless. :( There isn't a possibility you could send a wireless router out is there? Also could you turn interleaving off again please? :D

Paul please be patient and don't post time after time, the guys are busy but they will get round to everything eventually.
If your post has been "ignored" for a long time feel free to post a "BUMP" to bring it up on peoples radar but 30 mins is not a long time.
