Not for the first time I have just experienced an apparent flaw in using the website.
I usually click on "new posts" on the top tool bar and obviously get shown a screen with a left-hand column showing :
Grey icon for read status
Blue icon for unread status
Orange icon for over 20 comments.
after I have clicked on a few Blue posts and read the content what happens randomly is that when I return to the unread posts screen all the previous blue posts have turned grey - even though I have not previously read them !
Does anyone else experience this ?

pjnsmbHi pjnsmb....The problem you're experiencing doesn't appear here on my page ..Like you.....I always check the "New posts" tab, and there were over twenty there this morning..I read a number of them and on returning...the unread items were still "blue" .Perhaps if someone else is having this problem they can let matt know...Its not an issue here on my machine ,but I'll keep a look out to see if it does occur in future !!

Morning guys
Mine have always been 'blue'; never seen 'grey' ever; but do like the idea of it

its due to log in / log out ... drives me mad too.
If you log out (or timeout when wandering off and watching "Cash In The Attic") then click new posts it shows you the new post since last logout.
Its really tough for me as I have to read EVERY post so I end up clicking "Open in new tab" on every thread.
Clicking "Remember me" improves things no end.

Lord alone knows why I read all the "Speed Crap" threads, since there is nothing I can do about them, but I suppose it increases my knowledge.
But, what that means is that like everyone else I tend to have 20-30 new threads when I get around to logging on. If I read a long one, or wander off, and then hit new posts I get a short list, just as matt says. However, the browser back button is your friend ;) one click (or 3-4 if you replied to the thread), and theres the old list, good as new. Work up from the bottom, and when you done them all, hit new posts to get the new ones. Not ideal, but it means you dont miss any.

i can increase the idle timeout setting to keep you logged in for longer but if I do then you show "green" even though you are not around.

An issue for you probably. Somehow I don't imagine anyone gets too excited when I am here or not :(
