What's not to like about football - multi talented sportsmen (diving, acting, spitting, shirt pulling) doing it all for the love of the game and being paid a mere pittance ... :rolleyes:

We've got sons presentation evening this evening. This is the local one for Managers Player, Most Improved and all that. A couple of weeks ago we had the league presentations which was a good day.
This evening i've been nominated to drive - funny that it coincides with there being a bar :|

Although something has been lost in the translation (from way up north here). Junior Football here is what would be called "non-league" or some such "way down there". Its men kicking and scratching.lol

Ahhh...it involves men....i'm getting the junior bit now :p
Last season he was playing for a div6 side and was their star player, winning players player and managers player (think thats pretty much unheard of to get both).
This season he's been playing for a div2 side and they've just got promotion. He also trains with an accademy (who i think may have just been relegated from the Premiership):(

My nephew was a goal keeper and signed to Glasgow Rangers. Later dropped because 1. he lost a bit of focus and 2. he had a massive growth spurt and became gangly and cumbersome for quite a while. He's now studying Sports Science and doing very well.
I hate football too <reasons given previously>:rolleyes:

I think Sports Science is what my middle one would like to do. He loves footie/sport, but he's very accademic. A total Mathamatics monster and loves anything scientific. I have no idea where he gets it from, because it sure ain't me :|

This is just me being lazy (why read all the small print when someone else may have already done it for you :)).
I now know we can ditch all the 'eliminated' players before the QFs (thanks Buffs) - but do we get a similar transfer window before the semis?
{This could make a big difference to which nationalities it is sensible to select togetether in your QF team}
To be honest I'm struggling to whip up much enthusiasm for the tournament as a whole - don't think it's because there's no UK involvement, just doesn't seem to have been that exciting yet - at least not in the bits I've seen.
Looks as if the Italians are doing their usual 'play like drains but scrape through and then start to perform a bit when it actually matters' so if I were a betting man I might have a euro or two on them to win ??

Unlimited from next stage on at each stage - deadline depends on start of first game each stage. Ditto, I am not that fussed about the tourney, too many games I have no interest in. TBH if Scotland aint on the big stage (which is frequent these days compared to when I was a lad) I don't care.
Edit: QFs 4 player limit from 1 team, SF 8 player limit, Final 12 player limit.

Very enjoyable - I liked Gerry's "**** or bust" tactic of picking the entire Spanish team for his final eleven - clever!
How about a Premiership version where we are only allowed to pick Eng/Scot/Wales/NI players (assuming there are eleven playing next season :rolleyes:).
And how about an Ashes version next summer ??
