We'd need a little more to go on. What you forwarding for, what keeps dropping and what router you got?
For the Echolife, there is enough in the link in my signature to do most things. The straightforward way is give your PC/console a static IP; reserve (or for Echolife 'remove') that in the router DHCP pool; and then forward the ports required to that static IP.
A bit more and we can advise exactly.:)
