For another forum (above) I wrote 2 questions/answers on 24/26th Dec that might help some members here who have these type of problems. Like to have some feed back

hi HRAY,

Rushing out for the day but just caught your post, you are suggesting changing your DNS settings to the OpenDNS servers.

This has been covered elsewhere on these forums along with the recent upgrades TalkTalk have done to their DNS servers.

Just to repeat from that other post - after experimenting with OpenDNS and Talktalk's DNS my recommendation is to stay with Talktalk and keep the OpenDNS values as a standby in case Talktalk's DNS servers fail.

I got better performance from Talktalk's DNS servers and found that using OpenDNS caused a lot of popular websites to be slow to respond in Internet Explorer, Opera, Maxthon, Netscape, Safari, and every other browser I routinely try when testing these things.

With the work Talktalk have recently done I now have faith in their DNS servers - although I am keeping a note of the OpenDNS values just in case!

we use a 3rd party to monitor our network and DNS etc compared to other industry players. TalkTalk's DNS servers perform well

I'm trying to get permission from the 3rd party to publish their reports here.

Thanks for all your comments; possibly I have 'missed' the work TT have done recently on their DNS server. Will now give them a try again and report back i.d.c. how I find they compare. One thing I did find in past (no one could explain why) that using Open DNS did stop my line drops instantly.
Can not reiterate to often to readers/members to check their internal wiring (see my 1st post for 'guidance' instructions.

Thanks HRAY, share any findings back here. These forums thrive on real world investigations.
