I have been busy all weekend playing with my new flash drive from Transcend, not only is it sleek, trendy and functional but it has a built in Biometric Finger Print Scanner which allows you to securely protect files stored on the drive and your computer & use auto website login for sites where you have a registered account using your finger print & AES 256bit encryption technology.

Transcend JetFlash220 Biometric USB Drive

The Auto Login function keeps a secure list of all your usernames and passwords, so when you visit a website where you are a registered user the Jet Flash will automatically log you in and when you are finished just unplug the Jet Flash drive and all your passwords are erased from the computer, it that simple.

"Sounds very complicated" I hear you say, well you couldn't be any further from the truth. Accompanying the drive is a CD which contains a Partitioning Tool, this allows you to create two separate partitions, one is public for all to see and the other is private which can only be access by you or the holder of your finger... gulp. Once you have created the partition sizes using the wizard you are ready to start scanning your fingers. I suggest that you scan all fingers and if needed your big toe for good measure, if for some reason you cannot scan you finger to access your data there is a password override just in case.

Some Technical Stuff:

  1. High-speed data transfer speed USB2.0 compliant
  2. AES 256 - bit encryption technology
  3. Plug and play connection
  4. No driver (Windows ® 2000/XP/Vista)
  5. USB power supply. No external power or battery
  6. Data transfer and access LED display
  7. 2-year warranty

With the rise in identity theft I think this little piece of kit is a must have, you can either get the 2Gb=£23.38, 4Gb=£29.26 or 8Gb=£44.53 which is plenty of space for those files you want to keep safe, whether you are using it for business or personal use it has the security to protect your information, now I know that it is a little expensive compared to other flash drives but just look at what you are getting for your money!!!

Overall product review 9/10
