CAPACITY : In general an exchange can be "Live" which means its accepting new customers or "Unavailable". It could be unavailable for a large number of reasons such as the exchange being full or awaiting new kit to be ordered.
CONGESTION : Sometimes exchanges suffer from congestion when the link to the internet is not large enough for the traffic the people using that exchange are generating. TalkTalk strive to make sure that exchanges are upgraded well before they get congested but in some cases its not possible to complete this in time. Any exchanges that are congested are listed below along with the expected upgrade date.
UNBUNDLING : Planned for TalkTalk exchange unbundling (LLU). Please note that dates are all approximate and subject to change. Once an exchange is unbundled a period of testing will be undertaken. Once the exchange is approved customer migration will begin. Every effort is made to ensure this is done in a speedy manner but in exceptional cases it can take up to 3 months to complete. Existing customers within these newly released exchanges will be automatically moved over assuming their line supports this type of migration and there is sufficient capacity.
EXCHANGE FULL : Currently no more room on the exchange for new customers.
SUSPENDED : Plans for unbundling the exchange onto the TalkTalk network have been suspended.
