On Saturday 6th February, we carried out some routine power work in our Manchester data-centre, as part of our programme to increase capacity on the network.
Unfortunately, as a result of a temporary fault in our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), broadband access was disrupted in a number of exchanges across the North-West, North-East and Scotland.
Broadband access was restored within an hour and over the proceeding three days we continued to monitor all systems and applications as they came back into service.
During this time, you may have experienced delays in sending and receiving mail. Please be reassured, that no email was lost during this period and any delayed mail has now been successfully delivered.
Some customers may have encountered problems uploading content to their websites and browsing the internet too. This has now been resolved.
Unfortunately, the following organisations may have wrongly assumed that some of our backlog of outbound mail was spam:
This was a temporary problem and has now been resolved.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this incident has caused.
